KOREAN consumer electronics company Samsung has bagged the title sponsorship rights for the forthcoming cricket Test and ODI series between India and Pakistan, the Pakistan Cricket Board said on Tuesday. Indian bikemaker Hero Honda will be the co-sponsor for the series.

The `Samsung Cup' series will begin on March 11, 2004

"We are very pleased to have secured the title rights to the forthcoming Indo-Pak Cricket Series. The sponsorship of the India-Pakistan Test and ODI Series marks the escalation of our involvement with the game of cricket to an entirely new level," Mr Ravinder Zutshi, Director (Sales), Samsung India, said.

On Hero Honda's association with the upcoming series, Mr Brijmohan Lall, Chairman, Hero Honda Motors, said, "It has always been our endeavour to create an environment that fosters growth and peace. There is no better way to create that than by extending a hand of peace and friendship. We are proud to be a part of this moment."
