Korean co enters GSM market

A KOREAN manufacturer of mobile handsets, Pantech, has announced its entry into the Indian market where it has put out two GSM phones - one targeting the female subscriber and the other "featuring the latest in mobile phone technology."

Pantech, originally a manufacturer of CDMA phones, had developed GSM phones, which it produces and exports to the world markets, said a release from the company.

"The mobile phone market in India is largely untapped," said Mr David Hyunso, Senior Vice-President, Sales Division, Pantech.
