AMP Sanmar raises capital by Rs 35 cr

Chennai , Feb. 10

THE Chennai-based AMP Sanmar Life Insurance Co Ltd has announced additional infusion of Rs 35 crore to its existing capital of Rs 125 crore.

The additional capital matches the current shareholding of the joint venture partners - 74 per cent from the Sanmar Group and 26 per cent from AMP.

In a press release, the company has said that the additional capital is necessary because business is growing. "We are looking at expansion coming from new markets as well as new products. To achieve this, we are ready to look at markets beyond the South," the press release says, adding that the company started 22 new branches so far this year.
