iSoft to invest Rs 450 cr more in Indian arm

ISOFT Plc, the UK-based software provider for the healthcare industry, has announced plans to invest about Rs 450 crore over the next three years in its India arm.

Addressing the media, Mr Ravan Boddu, CEO, iSoft R&D (P) Ltd, said, "With the $100 million meant for the India operations, we will increase our manpower strength from the current 300 to 800. The funds would also be used to expand our infrastructure."

The company currently employs 2,200 people worldwide. About 75 per cent of the company's revenues come from servicing the healthcare sector in the UK. Much of the product development for the company happens out of the India centre. The centre is working on the next version of its product.

According to Mr Boddu, "The future versions would aim at delivery of information on digital and communication devices." .

Mr Tim Whiston, CEO, iSoft Plc, said, "Recently, we were selected to deliver solutions for the National Health Service technology initiative for three of the five zones within the UK. This would mean revenues of $550 million over 10 years period."
