Rubber prices recover slightly

rubberSPOT rubber rates improved on Thursday. Scattered buying from covering groups and purchase agents helped the market to recover slightly amidst thin trading. RSS 4 closed at Rs 50 against Rs 49.75 on Wednesday.

At the Bangkok market RSS 3 moved up by 6 paise to Rs 56.55 from Rs 56.49 a kg. The TOCOM March features for RSS 3 was better at Rs 58.41 against Rs 57.80 as on Wednesday. 20 The rubber futures recorded moderate gains on Thursday reacting in tune with the positive international markets.

The near month March delivery was quoted at Rs 52.54 (51.75), April delivery at Rs 54.77 (54.01), May delivery at Rs 56.94 (56.10) and June delivery at Rs 58.84 (58.15) per kg for RSS 4.

The spot market rates per kg on Thursday were as follows: RSS 4 Rs 50 (49.75); RSS 5 Rs 49 (48.75); ungraded Rs 48 (47.75); ISNR 20 Rs 49.75 (49.50); latex 60 per cent Rs 39.50 (39.50).
