AIMA conference on labour laws

THE necessity to employ on a contract basis for a fixed tenure and simplification of labour legislations was discussed at length at a two-day seminar on labour laws organised by the All India Management Association (AIMA) here.

Speakers stressed on the relevance of fixed term employment in the present economic context.

In his inaugural address, Mr A.K. Balyan, Director (Human Resources) of ONGC Ltd, said bold steps are necessary to work out a proper balance in labour relations and stressed on the importance of the autonomy of employers.

Various Acts related to industrial employment and working conditions were also discussed.
