Outsourcing Compudyne pins hope on BPO foray Our Bureau
Bangalore Feb. 12 COMPUDYNE Winfosystems Ltd expects its BPO foray to help wipe out its losses and return to the black in two years. The company has tied up with the US-based Logistic Solutions Inc for the BPO forayLogistic Solutions is a software service and BPO firm operating in the field of telecommunications, finance, pharmaceutical, wireless, healthcare and education. Mr Avishkar Dahiya, President, Compudyne, said the company planned to offload between 20-25 per cent of its stake to Logistic Solutions by issuing fresh equity. As part of the tie-up, Compudyne would act as the backend for Logistic's business process outsourcing operations by utilising its 250-seat facility in Bangalore. Compudyne in partnership with LSI would target the healthcare, media-animation and VFS and legal-linguistics sectors for the BPO offerings. "We are looking at a revenue of $2 million in the first year, $5 million in the second year and about $8 million in the third year of the BPO operations. By the end of the first year, we expect to wipe out our losses and turn profitable in the second year," Mr Dahiya said. The company, which took a hit post September 11 incidents, has accumulated losses to the tune of Rs 12 crore, Mr Dahiya said.
