HOSPIMEDICA India, the international exhibition on medical and emergency equipment, hospital supplies and management, diagnostics and disaster management, considered to be the world's largest show for medical industry, is being staged once again at the HITEX grounds here from Friday.

Announcing this here, Mr Japesh Thakur, Project Manager of Cidex, a joint venture of Messe Dusseldorf and Kolnmesse International, the organisers of the exhibition, said the last show at the same venue attracted over 3,750 trade visitors over three days from 23 countries. HospiMedica India was the largest gathering of international participants among any Indian medical event, he said.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, he said HospiMedica India has become synonymous with the latest medical equipment and technology display. The show does not compromise on quality standards, which is a prime factor for any medical equipment and healthcare technology show. According to Mr Thakur, medical specialists, administrators and healthcare consultants gather under one roof to seek the one unique solution to their medical requirements.

"Once again, this annual event promises to bring together the entire network of medical professionals and display latest medical equipment and technology from across the globe," Mr Thakur said.

He said a focussed and targeted visitor campaign was done and the event is attracting a large number of doctors, medical consultants, hospital administrators, medical equipment manufacturers and traders on one platform.

EmergeIndia

Concurrent to the show, Apollo Hospitals is organising a high-level medical conference on Emergency Medicine and Disaster Management. According to the Apollo Hospitals Vice-President, Medical, Dr K. Hari Prasad, emergency medicine was the most neglected speciality in the country despite trauma being amongst the top five killers and emergencies in total accounting for over 60 per cent of deaths.

Aimed at contributing to the growth and emergence of this important sector in medicine, Apollo Hospitals has created the awareness platform `EmergeIndia' with the resolve to work together to liberate emergency medicine in the country.
