`Amazing India' exhibition in Dubai

A MULTI-product international trade exhibition presenting a variety of exclusive Indian products and services called "Amazing India 2004" will be held at the World Trade Centre in Dubai during March 5-8.

Organised by Global Foundation, a city-based event-management specialists, Amazing India will bring together the country's businesses as diverse gems and jewellery; handlooms and handicrafts; garments and fashion wear; banking and investment; special economic zones; builders and developers; food processing industry; and information technology.

Apart from these, India will be promoted as a tourist attraction, with special emphasis on Indian healthcare and medical tourism. A global buyer-seller meet organised concurrently with the exhibition will provide opportunities for product sourcing, technology acquisition and upgradation as well as consultancy assignments, according to the organisers.

Exhibitors will comprise State tourism development corporations, State industrial development corporations, export promotion councils for handloom and handicrafts, gems and jewellery, readymade garments, leather goods and other commodities, apart from special economic zones and Government departments relating to IT, telecommunication, health and food processing. Participation of a number of corporate hospitals at the event will certainly help boost the image of India as one of the medical tourism destinations of the world, Global Foundation pointed out.

Amongst others, the four-day event is supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Food Processing Industries and Maharastra Chamber of Commerce, and approved by Indian Trade Promotion Organisation.
