Rubber flares up on limited arrivals

RUBBER rates flared up further on Monday. The covering groups offered better quotations as sellers sidelined the market.

Sheet rubber RSS 4 closed at Rs 51.00 against Rs 50.50 on Saturday. Arrivals were meagre.

RSS 3 improved by 5 paise to Rs 57.01 from Rs 56.96 at Bangkok. The TOCOM March features for RSS 3 weakened to Rs 57.80 from Rs 58.53 a kg on Friday.

The futures market was almost steady on Monday. The near-month March delivery was quoted at Rs 52.66 (52.68), April delivery at Rs 55.12 (55.05), May delivery at Rs 57.39 (57.13) and June delivery at Rs 59.30 (59.18) per kg for RSS 4.
