New Delhi , Feb. 16

BHARAT Heavy Electricals Ltd has bagged yet another order for a steam turbine generator (STG) set and waste heat recovery boilers to be installed in a captive power plant of a steel mill in Orissa.

Bhushan Steel and Strips Ltd has placed an order for a 30.75-MW STG set along with two matching waste heat recovery boilers of 57.5 tonnes per hour capacity each, for the captive power plant at its Meramandali steel plant near Angul in Orissa. The power plant will meet the entire power requirement of the current phase of installation.

Valued at about Rs 36 crore, BHEL has won the order against stiff competition from French and British equipment suppliers, its press statement here said.

BHEL's scope of work in the present contract envisages manufacture, supply and supervision of erection and commissioning of the STG set with associated auxiliaries and matching waste heat recovery boilers. While the STG set will be manufactured at BHEL's Hyderabad plant, the waste heat recover boilers will be manufactured and supplied by the company's Trichy unit.
