Shipping Logistics - Shipping SKS posts Rs 2.7-cr net in third quarter Our Bureau
Mumbai , Feb. 17 SKS (Ship) Ltd, formerly Shahi Shipping Ltd, which operates about 35 coastal barges on Indian coast, has reported a net profit of Rs 2.67 crore during the third quarter of the current fiscal, as against Rs 1.43 crore in the corresponding period of last fiscal, registering a 87 per cent increase. During the quarter, net sales also registered a 20 per cent growth as compared to the corresponding quarter to touch the Rs 8.45 crore mark. The company, which operates from Jamnagar, Magdala, Mumbai, Goa, Kochi to Kolkata ports, carries nearly 4 million tonnes of coastal cargo. The company now plans to expand its fleet by acquiring 4 vessels of 3,600 DWT each, besides developing a dry dock on a 35-acre piece of land at Mankule, Alibag. An investment of Rs. 30 crore has been proposed for this expansion programme.
