Rubber gains further on low arrivals

RUBBER market continued to make more gains on Tuesday. RSS 4 moved up to Rs 51.50 from Rs 51 a kg on Monday as covering groups turned more active.

According to market sources prices are expected to spurt further on better demand since the arrivals are extremely low.

In the Bangkok market, RSS 3 was quoted at Rs 57.07 against 57.01 and the TOCOM March features for the same grade improved to Rs 58.50 from Rs 57.80 a kg on Monday.

The rubber futures bounced back on Tuesday.

The near month March delivery was quoted at Rs 53.65 (Rs 52.96), April delivery at Rs 56.30 (Rs 55.32), May delivery at Rs 59.01 (Rs 57.52) and June delivery at Rs 60.73 (Rs 59.46) per kg for RSS 4.

The market opened better and improved on renewed buying interest.

The spot market rates per kg were as follows: RSS 4 Rs 51.50 (Rs 51.00); RSS 5 Rs 50.50 (Rs 50.00); ungraded Rs 49.50 (Rs 49.00); ISNR 20 Rs 51.00 (Rs 50.50); latex 60 pe cent Rs 40.00 (Rs 40.00)
