Chennai , Feb. 17

DISHNETDSL has implemented an e-governance solution for the Department of Registrations, Tamil Nadu. The project, called "Reginet," is a Web-based solution wherein one can apply on the Internet for encumbrance certificates, marriage certificates and extracts for chits and society registrations over a secure network.

Reginet, coupled with the application software package - Star (Simplified and Transparent Administration of Registration) - will reduce the complexity and manual involvement behind registration processes with its online services, record handling, archival of registration documents, guideline values for properties and issue of encumbrance certificates, says a Dishnet release.

Dishnet has digitised the records across the State. The Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu and National Informatics Centre provided technical consultancy for the project.

The project includes supply of hardware, integrated data collection, application and reporting software and disaster recovery solutions for the 325 departmental offices of the Registration department by Dishnet.
