Course in co-op management on the anvil

THE Andhra Pradesh Government is contemplating a higher diploma course in Co-operative Management through correspondence from the next financial year, according to Mr T.D. Janardhan Rao, Chairman, Andhra Pradesh Cooperative Bank (APCOB).
The course would be exclusively for the benefit of office bearers of the co-operative societies and other individuals attached with co-operative management, he said, while speaking at the 50th Higher Diploma awarding ceremony at the Institute of Co-operative Management (ICM) here.
Referring to the role played by the ICM, the APCOB Chairman said that 1,871 group leaders of self-help groups (SHGs) and Velugu scheme and 1,758 women paid secretaries of the Women Diary Programme have been trained by the institute.
Mr Rao presented Diploma Certificates to 18 qualified participants and also explained the Act and the various rules governing co-operative societies.
