SKF Bearings net up 70% in fourth quarter

SKF Bearings India Ltd, the bearings manufacturing and engineering services company, has recorded a net profit of Rs 12 crore for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2003, a 70 per cent increase over the figure for the previous year. Sales stood at Rs 131.9 crore.

According to the audited financial results for the year ended December 31, 2003, the company recorded sales of Rs 465.2 crore for the full year ended December 31, 2003, a growth of 15 per cent over the figure for 2002. Net profit grew to Rs 32.2 crore, an increase of 58 per cent over 2002.

Total income was up at Rs 489.22 crore, up 16.5 per cent over the comparable income in the previous year.

Earnings per share increased to Rs 7.1 from Rs 4.5 in the previous year, an increase of 58 per cent. The board has recommended a dividend at 25 per cent of the paid-up capital.
