IN an example of a university taking its classroom to the premises of a business organisation — the Ahmedabad-based Cadila Pharma has linked up with the Nirma University to give its employees a year-long training in advance management.

The "advance management certificate" course is for staff and executive cadre employees, who have not undergone specialisation after graduation, the company said in a communiqué issued on Thursday.

"An elaborate course content has been worked out for the programme after many rounds of discussions with CPL employees and faculty of Nirma University," said Mr I.A. Modi, Chairman of the company, dedicating the programme to the employees of his company.

Further, he pointed out, that the course curriculum would help employees emerge as effective managers, as it would help them understand the business and socio-economic environment, relate strategy with daily management tasks, integrate functions and manage financial resources effectively.

The programme contents encompass subjects such as management and business strategy, information technology for managers, economic and business environment, sales and marketing management, accounting and finance for managers, people management and operations management including TQM and Six Sigma.

This programme has been kicked-off for the first batch comprising 50 employees and it will be made into an annual feature, company officials said.
