IBF wants ban on Indian channels in Pakistan to be lifted

New Delhi , Feb. 20

THE Indian Broadcasting Foundation (IBF) has written to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to persuade the Pakistani Government to lift the ban on Indian television channels.

After the Kargil operations, Indian television channels were banned. The IBF, in a letter to the Foreign Secretary, has said that the goodwill generated because of the visit of the Indian cricket team to Pakistan after a long gap and the availability of live telecast of the matches to millions of Indian viewers, seems to be an opportune moment to take up the issue with the Pakistani authorities.
