Andhra Bank plans forex workshop

HYDERABAD: In the global context of deregulation in financial markets adding a new focus to international banking and foreign exchange markets, Andhra Bank is organising a week-long workshop on various aspects of foreign exchange business and FEMA regulations at its Staff College located at Jubilee Hills here.

In a press release, the bank said the workshop would begin on February 23 to close on February 28. According to the bank, with the volume of world trade and Indian exports growing significantly, the vast potential calls for superior skills in the people dealing with foreign exchange business.

"The objective of this workshop is to enrich the knowledge and skills of the bank officers in dealing with various foreign exchange transactions at the branches and to make them acquainted with the latest changes in trade and exchange control regulations," the bank's Deputy General Manger, Mr K.G. Srinivasa Rao, said.

The workshop, being organised under the auspices of the Foreign Exchange Dealers Association of India (FEDAI), would be attended by officers from various public and private sector banks, the release said.
