BHEL bags IOC orders

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: With Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) opting to source equipment from Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), the power utility on Friday delivered two sets of gas turbines and generators out of the Rs 475-crore order, under which it has to provide a total of four sets.

Mr H.W. Bhatnagar, Chairman and Managing Director, flagged off the gas turbine generator at BHEL (Hyderabad) for IOC's Panipat plant.

The products are for the 120-MW integrated captive co-generation power plant, to be set up as part of its refinery expansion and petrochemical project at Panipat, a BHEL press release said. "To be commissioned in a tight schedule of 24 months, the eco-friendly power plant will meet the process steam and power requirement of Panipat refinery expansion and a new petrochemicals project," it said.
