THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The public sector Kerala State Electronics Development Corporation (Keltron) has been selected to the 31-member Indian team that will participate in the international aerospace exposition at Singapore during February 24 to 29.

Announcing this, a Keltron spokesman said here that 700 leading companies of the world are showcasing their products during the six-day expo. The Indian team consists of major players in the field of space and defence electronics, besides top brass from the Central Government and the Society for Indian Aerospace Technology and Industries.

For Keltron, defence and electronics have been two thrust areas, contributing to 25 per cent of the turnover of around Rs 70 crore. The public sector company has an order book worth Rs 30 crore for these two sectors.

The Keltron Managing Director, Mr V. Ramkumar, will use the opportunity to interact with a select group of companies participating in the expo. Keltron, which is putting up a stall, will seek to source new technologies as well as look at outsourcing new manufacturing, servicing and marketing opportunities to it, the spokesman said.
