Human Resources iGATE Global plans to double hiring 14-acre campus opened in Bangalore Our Bureau

Bangalore , Feb. 23 iGATE Global Solutions plans to more than double its headcount to about 7,000 people over the next three to four years, according to the company's Chief Executive Officer, Mr Phaneesh Murthy. The company currently has about 3,200 people of which close to 90 per cent are in the IT services division and the rest split between the call centre and the business services provisioning (BSP) division. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Mr Murthy said the company plans to add between 3,500 and 4,000 people of which close to 1,000 hires would be for the company's BSP unit, some 500 for the call centre and rest for the IT services division. The company inaugurated its new campus here that is spread over an area of 14 acres and set up with an initial investment of Rs 30 crore. The campus currently has a capacity to accommodate about 900 people. iGATE plans to invest another Rs 50 crore in the phase II expansion of the campus, which is likely to be ready by December. "We plan to have over 3,200 employees in Bangalore over the next few years," he said. iGATE is also planning to expand its operations in Chennai, Hyderabad and Noida, where it currently has its call centre. Commenting on the company's BSP practice, Mr Murthy said, "We have some interesting prospects and the pipeline looks good". The company had recently signed two five-year $20-million deals with GreenPoint Mortgage and ING Vysya Bank. It is helping GreenPoint Mortgage to create a virtual enterprise by offering high-end back office services through a combination of technology, back office processing, high-end analytics and call centre operations.
