Palm oil meet to discuss price outlook

Mumbai , Feb. 24

THE annual palm and lauric oils conference and exhibition: price outlook for 2004-05 - will be held in Kuala Lumpur during March 2-4.

Organised by Malaysian Derivatives Exchange (MDEx), which trades crude palm oil futures contracts, the conference will discuss the price outlook for global vegetable oil market during 2004-05.

The year 2003 proved to be prosperous and exhilarating for the palm complex and the current year is going to remain as vibrant and exciting, MDEx said.

More than 1,200 delegates from 35 countries participated in the conference last year and the next week's meet is expected to attract an even larger number of delegates.

Experts will share their insights into various aspects of the global vegetable of market including supply, demand and price prospects, country-specific presentations, technical analysis, oleochemicals markets and so on. Country reports keenly watched would be those of Malaysia, Indonesia, China, India and the Americas.

Star speakers include well-known experts Dr James Fry of LMC International Ltd, Mr Thomas Mielke, editor of Hamburg-based Oil World magazine and Mr Dorab Mistry, London-based director of Godrej International Ltd who will share their views on the market. The presentations would be followed by a panel discussion.
