Strategy Chr Hansen sets up shop in India Our Bureau
Mumbai , Feb. 26 CHR. Hansen, a global food ingredients company, has launched its subsidiary in India. The Danish supplier of food ingredients now has offices in 30 countries worldwide. Chr. Hansen's venture in the country will initially concentrate on vegetable rennet and bacteria cultures for cheese and yoghurt, two areas in which the Danish company already is the world leader. Later this year, natural colours derived, for example, from fruits and berries and flavours for soups and sauces, among other things, will also be added to the menu. While the office in Mumbai will be responsible for sales, marketing and providing technical advice, most of the actual sales work will be taken care of by a nationwide network of distributors.
