Rubber prices bounce back

Our Correspondent

Kottayam , March 1

AFTER a shortfall, the rubber market bounced back on Monday. Covering purchases wiped out the weekend losses while the world markets fuelled the bullish sentiments.

According to market men, exporters were also keeping a low profile. All the grades made handsome gains as the gap between demand and supply positions widened owing to low arrivals.

Sheet rubber RSS 4 closed at Rs 56 against Rs 54.75 a kg on Saturday. RSS 3 improved to Rs 60.09 at Bangkok.

The rubber futures also turned bullish with the near month March delivery quoting at Rs 56.35 (55.49), April delivery at Rs 57.70 (56.64), May delivery at Rs 59.70 (58.64) and June delivery at Rs 62.10 (61.21) per kg for RSS 4.
