Thiruvananthapuram , March 1

AIR India has announced a reduction in its airfares on the Kerala-West Asia sector. The cheaper fares will come into effect from April 1, said Mr S. Talwar, Regional Director-India, Air India, at a press conference in the city.

The airline will reduce fares by five per cent during the `peak period' on this sector, he said. Fares on the Kerala-West Asia sector during the `off' period and the `shoulder' period will be between 5 and 15 per cent cheaper depending on market conditions, he said.

The `peak' period on this sector normally falls between August 15 and September 15, and also around Christmas and Eid, he explained. The airline has already announced a fare reduction on the West Asia-Kerala sector, he added.
