Software Andale targets exporters with online research offering Our Bureau
Mr Munjal Shah, CEO, Andale India, addressing a news conference in Bangalore on Monday. - G.R.N. Somashekar
Bangalore , March 1 ANDALE, an automation and data service provider, has launched Andale Research, a product that will enable intelligent selling on online marketplaces, targeted at exporters across the world and particularly in India. Launching the tool, the CEO, Mr Munjal Shah, said that Indian exporters to the US and Germany did not always have access to market intelligence for the products they sell. "With Andale Research, exporters in India can have the market transparency they need to sell more efficiently.'' Andale Research provides sellers with information on pricing, volumes, success rate graphs, measures of demand, category trends and other key metrics. Mr Shah said that these reports are delivered after the analysis of over 624 million items sold on the online marketplace, eBay, in both the US and Germany. These items alone represent almost $22 billion in online sales in a $60-billion market, he added. Over 2.2 million items sold on eBay are made in India, according to Mr Shah, who added that in addition to providing statistics, the product recommends the best time and day to sell, the best category to place the item in, and the best way for the exporter to price the item. For $4 a month, the service is made available to online and offline merchants. The merchants can use the product to establish a fair market value with other online or offline merchants when conducting transactions. The product has been launched for trading on eBay and Andale plans to extend this service to other online marketplaces, auction sites and storefronts in the next few months, according to Shah. As the exclusive provider of hit counters on eBay, an agreement renewed recently for three years, Andale is the auditor of record for measuring buyer interest and traffic to 80 per cent of all items sold on the site, said Mr Shah. "We combine the hit counter information with eBay sales data and other proprietary data sources to create a repository of pre- and post-sales information available.''
