THIRUVANANTHAURAM: The ICFAI University will host a series of 3-day residential national faculty development programmes for academicians from across the country, at Ooty and Hyderabad from May 3 to May 12.

Mr C. Renjit, Development Officer, ICFAI University, Thiruvananthapuram, said the faculty development programmes are aimed at helping academicians update themselves with current developments in the economy and their impact on education and career opportunities. It also will seek to provide them with a good platform for exchanging of ideas and networking with other participants from their respective fields of education.

The faculty development programmes at Ooty will cater to principals/vice-principals of high schools, junior colleges, degree and engineering colleges and deans and directors of business schools. The Hyderabad session is intended for faculty members and heads of departments in degree courses, engineering colleges and business schools.

The costs of organising these programmes, including coast of travel and hospitality expenses of participants, will be borne by the ICFAI University.

The programme will include topics on emerging opportunities in the education sector, importance of intellectual leadership and institution building, managing students, teachers and industry expectations, dealing with placements, handling pubic relations and fostering a research culture.
