C3i plans to invest $3 m to ramp up India operations

V. Rishi Kumar

Hyderabad , March 4

C3i Inc, a New York-based customer management, consulting and technology solutions provider for the life sciences vertical, has announced plans invest $ 3 million to ramp up their global development centre based out of Hyderabad.

The Director and Head of Operations in India for C3i, Mr Leon Baker, told Business Line the global centre has been set up at the Vanenberg IT Park in October last. Expansion plans include inducting about 200 people, an investment of about $2 million by this year-end and another million dollar next year.

"The company had commenced its Hyderabad operations to serve as a global technical support centre that seeks to address the sales team of large pharmaceutical companies having a work force in excess of 2000 to about 8000 people. Since the launch, the company has broadened its services portfolio and expects to make this a Siebel support centre focussed on sales force for pharma companies," he explained.

"We are an extremely focussed and a niche player in this filed. We chose India and Hyderabad as this offers a huge cost advantage and a large manpower base that would help the company provide round-the-clock support to the large workforce in the pharma and life sciences-related corporations," Mr Baker said.

"With a company client list that includes large corporations such as Aventis, Bayer, Roche, we offer high quality of customer management solutions for these companies. With these solutions, the sales force spread across multiple locations is in a position to be updated with the latest product or marketing initiative, be it through a laptop or a handheld device like that of HP Jornado, a handheld device. At one go, corporations are able to reach out messages to these people," he said.
