CISF Raising Day fete

Our Bureau

HYDERABAD: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), now in charge of security of 47 airports in the country, including international airports, is all set to take over the security of the remaining 18 by the end of 2004.

Giving this information, the Director of the National Industrial Security Academy (NISA), Mr P.V.K. Reddy, said the CISF was on the verge of transforming its image from a primarily industrial security organisation to a multi-faceted special security organisation in tune with the changing demands.

The CISF's `Consultancy Cell', which provides security related services to big establishments like IIT Kharagpur, Delhi Metro Railway, AP Secretariat, Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam (TTD) etc has also been awarded ISO 9001-2000 for its quality management, he said, while speaking at the 35th Raising Day of the CISF on Wednesday.
