Software Tavant Tech to set up one more development centre V.Rishi Kumar
Hyderabad , March 15 TAVANT Technologies, a software solutions provider, has drawn up plans to expand its India operations with one more development centre in either Pune or the National Capital Region (NCR) and increase its headcount. The Vice-President of Tavant, Dr. Ashish Gupta, told Business Line that the company has about 400 employees, of whom 330 are based in India and the rest in the Bay Area of US. It plans to increase the number to about 600 by the year-end. "The company, which raised about $11 million in 2000-01 from CDC and Artimen, has grown revenues to $21.5 million and expects to log in revenues of about $35 million this year We expect to add more team leaders and expand the management team as well," Mr Gupta said. "Tavant builds collaborative software applications centred around the Internet and our solutions create effective two-way transparency between a wide range of financial services companies, manufacturers and their channel partners," he said. Most solutions being built today are focused on adding more features and are often not useful in helping companies establish direct relationships with customers. Further, these solutions create problems for organisations that market through distribution channels, creating channel conflict and jeopardising distribution networks essential to so many companies, he said. Headquarters in Santa Clara, California, Tavant has clientele that includes Ingersoll Rand and Amerquest. With better business traction, the company plans to expand its numbers significantly this year with a new centre, he said.
