Our Bureau

MANGALORE: The Finance Officer of Mangalore University, Mr Jameel Ahmad Khan, presented a deficit budget of Rs 15.91 lakh for 2004-05 at the academic council meeting here on Tuesday.

He said that Rs 21.59-crore expenditure and Rs 21.43-crore receipts have been estimated under non-Plan head for 2004-05. Under the Plan head, Rs 2.49-crore receipts and Rs 2.36-crore expenditure have been estimated.

He said that though the resources available are not sufficient to meet the requirements of all the departments, effort has been made to justifiably distribute the funds.

Later, the academic council adopted the budget proposals. Prof B. Hanumaiah, Vice-Chancellor of the university, presided over the meeting.
