Rubber steady; latex declines

RUBBER prices were steady on Wednesday. While sellers and buyers kept aside in a rather silent and inactive trading session, latex was the only loser which went down by 50 paise to Rs 41.50. .

The buying from the general rubber goods sector kept ungraded rubber in limelight over other grades.

According to sources, major manufacturers may not be active before the new financial year. Export buying has also dried up indicating the achievement of their target.

The rubber futures continued to rule weak on Wednesday. The near month April delivery was quoted at Rs 55.46 (Rs 55.86), May delivery at Rs 57.35 (Rs 57.84), June delivery at Rs 59.51 (Rs 59.89) and July delivery at Rs 60.51 (Rs 60.71) per kg for RSS 4.
