Politics Hyderabad firm develops poll content for Cong Our Bureau
Hyderabad , March 17 THE Congress party is set to go into a poll campaign equipped with a three-hour attractively packaged publicity content prepared by a city-based company. The content includes rare clippings of NTR lashing out at the Chief Minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, for "hatching a conspiracy to topple him in an undemocratic manner". The content has been developed by Synergy Communications, a Visu group company that offers consultancy services for political parties in conducting election campaigns. It comprises songs showing Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, a senior Congress leader, taking part in the 1,500-km `Prajaprasthanam' last year, and depicting abject poverty in the countryside. In a preview of the campaign material on Wednesday, Mr C.C. Reddy, Chairman of the Visu group of companies, said that the company spent about Rs 50 lakh on developing the content. "We have developed the product on our own. If they (Congress candidates) find it useful, they can buy," he added. Mr Reddy is the Vice-Chairman of the poll campaign committee set up by the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee. The Visu group also finds a business opportunity in this. It believes the project is viable even if 50 candidates decide to buy the material. "We will sell it to the Left parties too." The material includes cartoons, hoardings, artwork and pamphlets. Mr Reddy, an NRI, said that he closely observed the Presidential poll campaigns in the US where the two political parties used a variety of means to publicise their views. Besides offering the content, Synergy Communications would also offer poll-related consultancy services like surveys, technical assistance, campaign planning and telephonic campaign.
