Rubber Lack of buyers floors rubber Our Correspondent
Kottayam , March 18 RUBBER market declined on Thursday. All the grades lost as the trading floors appeared deserted in the absence of buyers. There wasn't any selling pressure from the growers' side as the dry spell continued to suspend the crop production. The activities were in a low key. Sheet rubber RSS 4 closed at Rs 55.00 a kg against Rs 55.50 on Wednesday. The RSS 3 at Bangkok went down to Rs 60.25 from Rs 60.42 a kg. The TOCOM April features for RSS 3 dropped to 143.6 yen from 146.9 yen. The rubber futures showed a mixed trend even after a weak TOCOM closing. The near month April delivery was quoted at Rs 55.28 (Rs 55.47), May delivery at Rs 57.50 (Rs 57.45), June delivery at Rs 59.50 (Rs 59.55) and July delivery at Rs 60.50 (Rs 60.50) per kg for RSS 4. Following were the spot rates: RSS 4 Rs 55.00 (Rs 55.50); RSS 5 Rs 53.50 (Rs 54.00); ungraded Rs 52.00 (Rs 52.50); ISNR 20 Rs 54.00 (Rs 54.50); latex 60 per cent Rs 41.00 (Rs 41.50).
