Kolkata , March 18

THE country's first leisureplex, Ocio, a combination of leisure and entertainment, is being launched in the city shortly.

Spread over 30,000 sq ft of fully air-conditioned space at Belvedere in the Alipore neighbourhood, the complex would be the destination for overworked businessmen and executives, said Mr S.S. Kanoria, an industrialist and prime mover behind the project.

Speaking to newspersons on Wednesday, Mr Kanoria estimated the total cost of the project at Rs 18 crore.

The project, to be executed in phases, would be complete with temperature controlled indoor swimming pool of international standards, fully equipped gym complex, mini golf course, well-stacked pub, business centre, conference hall, a roof-top terrace and a night club.

Ocio would soon start inviting memberships, both individual and corporate. The minimum fee for an individual member would be Rs 35,000.
