Rubber improves on week-end buying

RUBBER rates improved on Friday. The weekend purchases from the covering groups and general rubber good sector activated the uptrend while the arrivals continued to be low.

All the grades except latex gained while the volumes kept a low profile in the absence of quantum buyers and sellers.

RSS 4, the sheet rubber improved to Rs 55.25 from Rs 55 a kg. The TOCOM April features for RSS 3 was weak at 143 yen against 143.6 yen. At Bangkok, RSS 3 was slightly up by 7 paise to Rs 60.32 from Rs 60.25 a kg on Thursday.

The futures market also was in a better mood on Friday. The near month April delivery was quoted at Rs 56.30 (Rs 56.01), May delivery at Rs 58.50 (Rs 58.06), June delivery at Rs 60.11 (Rs 59.93) and July delivery at Rs 60.89 (Rs 60.80) per kg for RSS 4.
