Our Bureau

MUMBAI: Novell announced the availability of GroupWise 6.5, its collaboration platform running entirely on Linux.

The product would be available from April 15 this year. The GroupWise product handles e-mail, calendaring, instant messaging, contact management, document management and workflow services across network operating systems such as Novell NetWare, Windows NT 2000 and Linux.

According to a company release sometime later this year, Novell's Ximian Evolution, an e-mail and workgroup client for Linux-based systems would feature native support for GroupWise for Linux. In addition, basic GroupWise plug-in support for the Gaim instant messaging client will be available in the next 30 days, distributed through the Gaim open source project.
