Sino-Indian team discusses trade prospects

Our Bureau

New Delhi, March 24

A TWO-DAY meeting of the Sino-Indian Joint Study Group (JSG) on trade & economic co-operation began in Beijing on March 22 to work out measures for comprehensive trade and economic co-operation.

The Joint Study Group would also discuss the possibility of signing a FTA and Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement, said an official release here today.

Sino-Indian trade turnover surged 53.6 per cent last year at $7.6 billion. The two sides hope to work out a clear timetable and study the areas of cooperation for trade, investment and other areas.
