Global India

This is with reference to the article "Is India really global?" (Business Line, March 24). The article raises a number of interesting points. Before proceeding to answer the question in any substantive measure, one will need to ask ourselves first "is it India national?".

Look at what a mess that the country created out of getting a single sales tax administration structure in place under VAT. So, just as management guru Michael Porter once counselled that companies should be locally competitive to be globally successful, countries must become national first before aiming to be global.
