Training in chemical safety

HYDERABAD: The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests are jointly organising an advanced training programme on prevention and management of chemical accidents on Tuesday and Wednesday in the city.
The programme is designed to provide insight into regulatory laws, impact assessment of industry sites, storage and disposal of chemicals, medical wastes, safety audits & management, emergency preparedness, etc.
The Member-Secretary, Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Mr R.M. Gonela, will inaugurate the programme, while the Executive Director and President of Jubilant Organosys Ltd, Mr S.N. Singh, will deliver the keynote address. Dr N.H. Hosabettu, Director at the Environment Ministry, would also share his perspectives, according to a FICCI release. The two-day programme is aimed at preparing the industry to adequately tackle the problem and avoid accidents.
