2 more nominees' names forwarded to ICAI council

THE 19th Central Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), which was constituted in early February, is now fully in place.
The Finance Ministry has forwarded the names of its remaining two nominees to the institute. So far only four Government nominees had been appointed.
The ICAI council has in all 30 members, with six of them being nominees of the Central Government and the rest being elected by the institute members. It has a term of three years.
Informed sources revealed that the remaining two nominees, whose names have now been forwarded, are Mr Rakesh Singh, Joint Secretary, Revenue Department, and industrialist Mr Siddharth Birla. The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry has forwarded Mr Birla's name to the Government.
The other four nominees of the Government are Mr Jitesh Khosla, Joint Secretary, Department of Company Affairs, Mr Sathyamoorthy, Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General of India, Mr K.C. Prashar, a chartered accountant from Jodhpur, and Mr Pawan Sharma, a chartered accountant from Guwahati.
