Lakshmi Vilas Bank's business tops Rs 5,000 cr

THE total business of the Karur-based Lakshmi Vilas Bank (LVB) has crossed Rs 5,000 crore.

It comprises deposits of around Rs 3,100 crore, according to Mr A Krishnamoorthy, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the bank.

Mr Krishnamoorthy, who was here in connection with the inauguration of LVB's fifth branch in Kerala and 224th overall, said the bank would achieve total automation of all its branches by March 2005. As of now, 124 branches are fully and the others partially computerised.

He informed that the bank was working on introducing core-banking solutions in association with ICICI Infotech.

Mr Krishnamoorthy disclosed that the bank was in talks with three leading agencies, including Wall Street and Western Union, for money transfer arrangements.
