Kolkata , March 30

WELL-KNOWN scientist, Prof M.G.K. Menon, has urged the institutes of technical and scientific excellence to get together and pool in their resources with a view to furthering the cause of science.

Delivering the inaugural address at an international symposium on `Acharya J.C. Bose: The scientific legacy', organised here on Monday by the Bose Institute to commemorate `The Centenary Celebration of Sir J.C. Bose's Patent on Detector for Electrical Disturbances', he said a lot more could be achieved if research institutions joined hands and pooled in their resources for a common cause.

Acharya J.C. Bose, too, wanted East-West co-operation in the realm of rational sciences, he said.

Paying rich tributes to him, Prof Menon said the "greatest legacy that he has left behind is the spirit of total self-reliance and confidence.
