VGP Trade Centre to be opened on April 16

Our Bureau

Chennai , March 31

THE VGP Group will hold weekly markets on the East Coast Road at the newly constructed 72,000 sq ft trade centre.

Coinciding with the VGP Trade Centre's inauguration on April 16 will be a car sale from April 16 to 18.

VGP World Trade Centre has come up at Injambakkam, opposite the VGP Golden Beach and Universal Kingdom. The trade centre will host a series of such markets focussing on specific products and business categories.

Mr V.G. Santhosam, Chairman, VGP Group, said that the group's founder, late V.G. Panneerdas, thought of the expo centre as early as 1980. The concept of weekly markets, along the lines of the traditional weekly shandies, and the trade centre's location on the East Coast Road, will make it an attractive destination.

Apart from buying and selling, the car market will provide scope for demos and test drives and exhibition of products. On show will be automobiles, finance and insurance products, auto ancillaries, and a range of lubricants, tyres and upholstery. Besides cars, the shandies will also cover product categories such as gem and jewellery, handicrafts, textiles, garment, perfumes, cosmetic and beauty products, leather goods, publishing and books, office automation equipment and IT and electronics.
