SAS India has launched SAS9, an upgraded version of its software. According to an official statement, SAS9 is faster, more efficient and easier to use than its predecessors. This software connects all SAS applications so that they work together transparently, and it also communicates with other data sources and programmes.

The statement quoting the Managing Director & CEO, SAS India, Mr Vivek Gokarn, said: ``We grew 30 per cent last year in 2003 and SAS9 is expected to drive this pace of growth to an even higher level by 40 per cent by actually expanding the market for BI (business intelligence) solutions.''

Mr Don Cooper Williams, Director, Marketing & Alliances, SAS Asia-Pacific, said: "The SAS Intelligence platform empowers organisations by providing them reliable information that drive better decisions, increase revenue and provides a single view of the enterprise.''

SAS is a leader in providing business intelligence software. SAS solutions are used at more than 40,000 sites including 96 of the top 100 of the 2003 Fortune Global 500, the statement said.
