Metals Copper, lead, zinc prices hiked Our Bureau
Mumbai , April 1 TWO major private sector producers Sterlite and Birla Copper have increased their copper products prices by Rs 14-15 per kg on copper products for the current month in tandem with LME trend, trade sources said. The Bombay Metals Exchange (BME) also revised its benchmark price of copper wire bar upward by Rs 13.50 per kg for the current month. Similarly, Hindustan Zinc Ltd (HZL) revised selling prices of zinc upward by Rs 1.30 per kg, while lead metal prices reduced by Rs 1.20 a kg. The Bombay Metals Exchange (BME) announced benchmark price of copper wire bar at Rs 187.016 per kg as against Rs 173.441 per kg. Sterlite Copper and Birla Copper Ltd raised copper cathode (full) grade prices by Rs 15 per kg to Rs 164.796 as against Rs 164.796 announced as on March 1. Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL) also revised prices upward by Rs 1.30 per kg to Rs 67.50 per kg on ex-smelter basis for Special High Grade (SHG) and Rs 67.30 per kg on ex-smelter basis for High Grade (HG) from Rs 62.80 a kg, sources said. In lead category, the company has reduced by Rs 1.20 a kg at Rs 56.90 per kg (previous price of Rs 58.10) for the current month.
