Net rail bookings gather momentum

RAIL bookings through the Internet seem to be gaining popularity.

HDFC Bank claims that the bank through its Internet banking channel processed sale of railway tickets worth Rs 1 crore in the month of March and tickets worth Rs 5.15 crore for Indian Railways Catering & Tourism Corporation Ltd in the seven-month period since it started the business.

According to a HDFC Bank press release, during the same seven months, other banks such as ICICI Bank garnered tickets worth Rs 3.62 crore, Citibank Rs 1.22 crore and State Bank of India worth Rs 33.03 lakh among others.
