Bond prices up on ample liquidity

MUMBAI: Bond prices were up by around 23 paise to 35 paise across maturities on Thursday in a market flush with liquidity.

The 7.46 per cent 2014 paper opened at Rs 119.35 and got dealt up to Rs 119.60. The 8.07 per cent 2017 opened at Rs 124.45 and got dealt to Rs 124.68.

Although most banks stayed away from the market on Thursday due to their annual accounts closing, mutual funds and primary dealers were active in the market, bond dealers said. There were no deals done in the inter-bank call market.

In the seven-day repo under LAF, RBI received and accepted 12 bids amounting to Rs 2,390 crore at the rate of 4.50 per cent.
