Liberty group plans retail Revolutions

Mumbai , April 2

THE Liberty Group is making a foray into retailing through a new chain branded `Revolutions'. Floating a subsidiary company - Liberty Retail Revolutions Ltd, the footwear major is planning to set up 25 Revolutions stores across the country within the next two years.

At a press conference, Mr Adarsh Gupta, Executive Director, Liberty Group, said, "Apart from retailing footwear, there will be other products such as fashion accessories, leather goods and watches at the stores." Liberty would be retailing its own footwear brands with other products sourced from other manufacturers as well.

Marking an investment of Rs 20 crore towards its retailing venture, Liberty Retail Revolutions is targeting a turnover of Rs 75 crore in the next two years.

``The Revolution stores will be owned and managed by the company. These would be located in large format shopping malls,'' added Mr Gupta.

The company is opening its first retail store at the Inorbit mall in Mumbai. Besides, there are plans to set up more stores in cities such as Singapore, Dhaka, Colombo, Karachi and Dubai.
